

The Observatory represents the central phase in the study of responsible consumption and social responsibility in general.
Thanks to the continuity of the surveys and to the results obtained, the Observatory has become in these years an important instrument to gather information about the intentions and social and environmental worries of the Italian citizens and the main representatives of company stakeholder.
We believe that moving on with the surveys on responsible consumption phenomenon is necessary to give continuity to an instrument which is now consolidated in the field of CSR studies.
The researches on the above mentioned topic show that there is a clear gap between what is declared and what is concretely done. This is due to a physiologic satisfaction of those interviewed about all positive social trends.
Therefore we believe that observing responsible consumption is fundamental, and this can be done by surveying and measuring the gap between what has been declared and the real behaviors of the Italian consumers towards responsible consumption.

The final objective of the Observatory is to give to the public opinion, the CSR scholars, the institutions and the companies a realistic and useful instrument to make surveys on responsible consumption in Italy, on CSR in general, based on concrete and objective demonstrations of this phenomenon.
